Join SOCA in celebrating Black History Month! We are excited to bring you all this programming and invite everyone to participate. Acknowledging Black accomplishments. Check out our events!
Black History Month Kickoff Register on Eventbrite 2:00 - 4:00 PM | Feb 1, 2022 | Online We seek to elevate Black ingenuity in celebrating the 2022 BHM. Join us for an intriguing opening event and experience the Black culture. SOCA endeavors to create safe spaces for the Black population at SFU and highlight Black excellence and scholarship. Our overarching goal for this year’s Black History Month is to amplify Black ingenuity throughout history. On February 1, we will launch our Black History Month event with a virtual kick-off party celebrating Black arts and culture. It is an evening, of poetry, music and spoken words. Follow us on our social media pages to learn about African ingenuity and unlearn toxic racist narratives about Black History and culture this month of February.
